Hotwire Provides Hot Deals

hotwire-logo-3dHotwire provides greatly discounted hotels and airfares to those who are not picky about specifics.

(HOTELS) The way it works is that you specify a general area where you would like to stay. It will show you the general area and show how it breaks down the different sections. You can choose the star rating, and what amenities the hotel has but you will not know the exact hotel until you have booked it and this saves you money.

(AIRFARE) The great thing about Hotwire is that it shows you the exact cost of your flight: taxes and fees included. This makes it easier to see if you are indeed getting a deal when most sites out there show you only without taxes until you reach the final stage of booking. Hotwire makes it clear for you what you are getting and how much it is going to cost you.

West Coast Travel Cuts

Canadians can cross the border and then take off from Seattle to get anywhere on the west coast for pretty cheap until Nov. 18. United Airlines has slashed their prices. Check out more details here. Not bad prices all in all, but I think there could be better.

Here are some sample prices from Seattle (each way):

  • San Francisco … $47
  • Boise … $47
  • San Diego … $66
  • Portland, Ore. … $66
  • San Jose … $66
  • Sacramento … $67
  • Los Angeles … $66

Apple Keynote Disappointment

I was so excited for a new iPod line, especially a new iPod touch with a camera and video camera. I come away from September 9th feeling almost cheated. A new iPod nano that has a video camera, yippee. You can’t post those videos anywhere because it doesn’t have wifi capabilities and so you will have to download it to your computer then post it. what a pain. anyway, they did release itunes 9 which is just kind of a better looking iTunes that compliments the accents of Snow Leopard better than the last one. I like the app organization and the new store is pretty but still its not super impressive until the artists start to release those LP albums then I think it will really take off. The other thing they added was the voice over thing for all the ipods which is just a cool feature to have. I like the dropping price points, one can only hope that continues and flows over to affect iMacs and Macbook Pros.
