I just wanted to let you all know that there is a new book on the market. Many of you are thinking “why should I care?”, the reason you should is because a friend of mine is the co-author. You can check out more about it by clicking here. It is available in both hard and soft cover. I am excited for its release and hopefully will be reading it very soon and so should you.
Google is planning on stepping into the realm of operating systems. In late 2010, they are going to be releasing Chromium OS. Keep your eyes peeled for developer versions starting to circulate. They plan on being open source (free) so many may go this route. It is not yet know whether or not it will come already loaded onto computers but Google is likely to come up with a method that makes it easy to download and use on your everyday computer. It is pretty much entirely web-based and their primary objective is speed. It is going to be FAST and you will be online FAST. Watch the video below for more info:
This is a sea gooseberry (Phylum Ctenophora). If you are from the Pacific Northwest, I am certain that you have run into these at some point whether you noticed or not. They can be found all over the place, I have seen most of mine at the end of the pier in White Rock, BC. They are quite amazing little creatures. The lines along their body are cilia organized into combs for movement, while the two long tentacle looking projections are for capturing prey, usually rotifers or copepods. They are bioluminescent just like many cnidarians (jellyfish) and so can be seen glowing in the fall in the waters of the Pacific Northwest.
I am a 23 year old university graduate. My wife and I love to travel, hike and enjoy the great outdoors. Hopefully you will find the suggestions on this blog helpful.
