Some of my favorite websites, definitely worth checking out:
www.bantler.com is my new favorite way to check up on deal of the day sites. This is a compilation site of all the sites listed below and more. It offers a grid view which I find very user friendly and it will show you prices in CAD if you want which can be very handy due to the ups and downs of the market. There are several other “one deal at a time” websites that are related to snowboarding, mountain biking, skiing and skateboarding. Great places to gear up for the winter activities on the mountain or for camping the summer away.
www.macheist.com is quite a unique site as far as I know. It has an annual software package that it sells and gives away a portion of the money to charity. Also, leading up to the heist there are missions that you can undertake in order to get yourself some free software. They involve searching websites for icons or words, then solving puzzles which can involve geolocation, resizing the browser window and many other actively involved tasks. It is a great way to get some free software and see some of the amazing things of which the internet is capable.
For free Mac Software you need to click here. This site is a great source for shareware, demos, and more. You can find many amazing programs to enhance your mac and consequently your experience on your Mac. It is definitely worth a browse for all you Mac users out there.
Vuze = easy to use torrent downloading program. It claims to be “the most powerful bittorrent app in the world.” If it isn’t, it’s pretty close. It is the easiest to use bittorent app I have ever come across. It searches multiple databases to find what you are looking for whether that is software for your computer, or movies to watch tonight. It makes things so simple.
A great way to watch movies or tv shows is Ninja Video. It uses an applet that you must keep open in a separate window that you have to allow access to but other than setting that up it is an amazing source. You can choose to stream online or download the episodes or movies. You should definately take a look, the quality is amazing. Can watch in full screen without any pixelation on my MacBook (13″).
www.macrumors.com is a great way to keep on the cutting edge of upcoming technology, especially that relating to the Apple and the iPhone. It gives you all the latest rumors about upcoming Apple releases and developments. Great way to stay on top of the ever increasing technology side of things.
www.hamishandandy.com is a thing of beauty. Hamish and Andy are hilarious. I definitely think everyone should check them out at least once. They are not just radio hosts but they also have a bunch of pranks and such on YouTube. If you need a laugh go and check them out.
